I always loved books, comics, roleplaying, dice and cards. I think this is more me than the many iterations of other physical games I've explored over the years. Gamebooks in particular is something I enjoy especially for its hybrid state, half way between a novel and a roleplaying game.

Around 2005 or so I started working on an original gamebook concept. It never saw the light of day, and it was mostly world building anyway. I had this wiki I kept adding to over time. Now long since lost in many harddrive crashes since.

Skip forward, I never stopped obsessing about words on paper, and for nearly 15 years I've wanted to run a small printing press business. Not to get rich or anything, I just love the process, the smell of ink on paper, the artistry, and the written word.

The problem is covering its own costs. Printing, unless you're absolutely huge as a business, costs way more than it makes.

I've had many solutions over the year on how to flip that and find a sustainable way to do it that I can actually afford to launch.

So I sparked a good concept yesterday (which I'm still researching), and I think I will pursue this pretty hard for now and see where it takes me.

I do have the mortisphere boss battle series still on plan, as well as the dueling scenario book series (going to change from the mortisphere setting). But I was also thinking of bringing back my Karn setting as it could do very well as a series format for shorter more traditional gamebooks.

See the plan is to release 6 to 12 books a year, using a subscription model. Since a subscription, if I can attract enough readers, would be able to ensure the printing never goes into red.
