This is a shedding game which uses 36 mahjongg sized tiles. Each tile has 2 numbers on opposite sides between 1 and 9. There are 4 of each number.
At player count:
- 1 player, 18 tiles to beat puzzle, split into 2 rows. you can play from either row. special rules.
- 2 players, draft 18 tiles each, split into 2 rows. you can play from either row. special rules.
- 3 players, 12 each.
- 4 players, 9 each.
- 5 players, 7 each (leave one).
- 6 players, 6 each.
The game plays as:
Players play the tiles on the table.
You must play a tile either as a single, pair, three, or four - or in a chain.
You must play the tiles as they are lined in your row from draft.
In an example play,
If a player plays 3 tiles on the table, e.g. 3 1s. and the next player cannot or does not want to beat these tiles. They may sacrifice a tile on the outer border of their row (either side), face down, giving it as a point to the current controlling player. and then pick any of the tiles on the outer rows of the played 3s. if they had already collected point tiles, they can choose sacrifice a point tile instead of one from their hand.
The game ends when one player has shedded all their tiles.
Remaining tiles are treated as minus points.
Winner is whoever collected the most upside down tiles after the minus points have been counted.
THE RULES
each tile has a unique number combination. on the mirrored sides.
you can play any tile in your row but the tiles need to be adjacent and a sequence or pairing to be played. you cannot play random tiles from anywhere. they can be any length albeit pairing would be limited to max 4 since there are only 4 of each number.
you only need one to be higher number so in a ladder vs 3 you can have 2, 3, and 4. or you could play 3 4s, or you could play 4 tiles of any number, even 4 1s.
you take one of the tiles on the table from the outer edges of the played tiles, so if its 3 or more tiles you can only take the 2 outer most, but if its only 1 or 2 you can take any. as you take the tile you can rotate it and fit it anywhere in your row to make a new combo. if you have to take a tile its the next players turn.
when the game turns back to the original player they may take the remaining tiles on the table as points and play another hand.
