The idea of the game is that all you need is a couple of dice and the book and then get started playing.
I don't want the player to need to rely on a sheet of paper, instead, everything will be done with dice. This includes the economy of the game.
Things you need for the game:
- THE BOOK
- 1 green d10 Health dice.
- 1 yellow d12 Money dice.
- 1 blue d8 Burst dice (reroll).
- 3 black d6 Attack dice.
- 3 purple d6 Boost dice (give yourself +1 of these die when you attain Boost).
I will need to reduce the number of dice used. 9 dice is quite a lot, and it complicates how to keep track of abilities and rewards you may acquire or purchase on your adventure - i need some other means of tracking; but I really wanted to avoid the need to have anything but the book and a few dice. I need to think about this.
Some ideas from an earlier version
3d6 health dice + 1d6 ward dice - was a great system, with 5 attack dice.
Further contemplation
While ideally the game would only rely on a handful of d6. I think perhaps even excluding the concept of a Town might benefit the game as a game. No complicated rest stop could just have a 'camp',
Further ideas
Let's go back to the original idea of 3 ribbons, and 5x d6 dice (standard yatzy to make the game extra accessible). this would limit the ability to add extra die by only two. which will have to be tweaked mechanically. there is also the page based die rolls, removing any need for anything beside the book itself.
